World's Court League
The World's Court League, headquartered in New York City, welcomed proponents of the World Court concept who favored a purely judicial court having no power to enforce its opinions. Charles H. Levermore of the New York Peace Society was Secretary of the League. In 1919 it merged into the League of Nations Union. The term "World Court" was a general term used to denote the concept which later became the Permanent Court of International Justice.
