Dickinson, Jesse L. (Jesse Lee), 1906-1982
South Bend, Ind. resident, musician, and politician Jesse Dickinson grew up in Newton, Kansas. He studied music in college and worked as a musician and choral conductor. Dickinson moved to South Bend in 1928 and became active in politics in 1943, serving in the Indiana House and Senate for 20 years. He was the director of the Housing Authority of the City of South Bend and was affiliated with numerous agencies, organizations, and commissions.
