Carter, Edith M. Loughlin.
Member of one of the first WAAC (Women's Army Auxiliary Corps) companies; rose to rank of captain in the WAC's (Women's Army Corps). After serving as quartermaster in New York for one year, Loughlin served as reconditioning officer aboard the USAHS Blanche F. Sigman, a transport ship ferrying released American POW's home from Europe.
