Pitman, Elsie C. W.
The Pitman family moved from the Melbourne suburb of Kensington to the Melbourne suburb of Hampton in the early 20th century. The family house at 40 Service Street Hampton was called "Ungley". Later the family also owned 53 Service Street. Elsie Pitman's brother Edwin James George served in World War One, and Elsie trained to be a teacher at Hampton Higher Elementary School in the 1920's. Their sister was Leonora Pitman and their parents were Anne Ungley Pitman and Edwin Edward Major Pitman. Earlier branches of the family included the Hounsells, Hooks and Pennikets.
