Gifford, George Edmund
George Edmund Gifford, Jr., 1930-1981, BS, 1951, MD, 1955, University of Maryland; MA, 1961, Harvard University; was Instructor in Psychiatry from 1964 to 1981 and Associate Professor of Socio-Medical Sciences at Harvard Medical School, and Head of the Section of the History of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine from 1974 to 1981. Gifford practiced psychiatry privately in Cambridge, Mass. from 1961 to 1981, and was active in the American Association for the History of Medicine.
