Josslin, William L., 1905-

William Leslie Josslin was born in Portland, Oregon, on March 13, 1905.

He was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 1930, and began pacticing law in Portland. He served as deputy district attorney of Multnomah County, Oregon in 1932 (temporary appointment) and was associated with the firm of Wood, Montague, Matthiessen & Rankin (1933-34). He was secretary and legal advisor to Governor Charles H. Martin of Oregon. He married Ruth Carolun Caldwell on November 14, 1937; Charles Henry Martin (1863-1946) served as governor of Oregon from 1935-1939. He graduated from West Point Military Academy in 1887 and served with the military during the Spanish-American War, Boxer Rebellion, and World War I. After his retirement from the military in 1927, Martin served as a United States representative from Oregon from 1931-1935.
