Turlington, Ralph D., 1920-
Ralph D. Turlington was born in Gainesville, Florida, on October 5, 1920. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida in 1942 and a Master's in Business Administration from Harvard University in 1943. After serving in the military during World War II, Turlington joined the faculty at the University of Florida, teaching for three years in the College of Business Administration. He served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1950 to 1974. He was Speaker of the Florida House in 1967 and presided over the 1968 General Constitution Revision session. He served as Florida Commissioner of Education from 1974 until his retirement in 1987.
