Grüner, Ludwig, 1801-1882
Ludwig Grüner was a German engraver and painter, and author of several art books. After studying in Dresden and Milan, he travelled throughout Western Europe, and was very active in England. He became artistic advisor to Prince Albert and Sir Charles Eastlake, influencing the design of the Queen's Garden Pavilion in Buckingham Palace, and helped introduce continental artistic trends into England.
