Massachusetts Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health

The Massachusetts Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health was founded in 1976 as a non-profit organization, composed of workers, unions, community groups and health and safety professionals. It advocates and proposes legislation for worker safety to ensure Massachusetts residents can work in safe workplaces, neighborhoods, and communities. The organization began in 1972 as the Occupational Health and Safety Group of Urban Planning Aid, a technical assistance and community organizing support project, which published the nation's first health and safety newsletter for unions and workers in the country.
