Writer, teacher, and Hebrew scholar. A.B., Brown 1926; A.M., Brown 1929; Ph.D., Brown 1933. Taught English and Creative Writing at Brown from 1927 to 1969. Retired as Professor Emeritus. Author of "Something of a Hero" (1941) and "The Song the Summer Evening Sings" (1937). In collaboration with Rabbi William Braude translated "Pesikta de-Rab Kahana: R. Kahana's Compilation of Discourses for Sabbaths and Festal Days" (1975).
