Born in Lincolnton, N.C.; education: A.B. from Roanoke College, 1919; M.A. and LL.B. from University of South Carolina, 1921; Harvard Law School; admitted to Bar, 1921; served as Special Associate Justice, S.C. Supreme Court; Major, 8th Air Corps during World War II; General Counsel, Federal Power Commission; President of Richland County Bar Association, S.C. Bar Association, and the South Carolina Bar; Fellow and Regent, American College of Trial Lawyers; life member of American Law Institute; Chairman of South Carolina Judicial Council; co-founder, Memory Hold the Door program at USC Law School; member of South Carolina Educational Finance Commission; and member of American Bar Association for fifty years. Robinson also served as Moderator of the South Carolina Synod of the Presbyterian Church and as Director of the C & S National Bank and the Research and Development Foundation at the University of South Carolina.
