Abbott, Robert, fl. 1643-1665.
Robert Abbott (fl. 1643-1665) was a scrivener of Cornhill, London, who was one of the conspirators in the "Waller Plot," a plot in 1643 to seize London from the Parliamentary Army and return it to King Charles I. The plot, however, was discovered, and its conspirators arrested. Though Abbott was initially sentenced to death, he was pardoned, and eventually became a financially successful gentleman.
