Bellevue Alumnae Association.

The Bellevue School of Nursing opened in 1873 (then called the Training School for Nurses) at Bellevue Hospital. It was the first nursing school in the United States modeled after the Nightingale school in England. Early graduates of the School of Nursing went on to establish nursing schools around the United States and in Canada, were instrumental in founding national nursing organizations, and published many of the early textbooks used for nursing education. Graduates included Isabel Hampton Robb, Lavinia Dock, and Jane Delano, among others. The school closed in 1969, but the Alumnae Association remains active.

In 2001 the Alumnae Association completed a one million dollar endowment drive for the Foundation of New York State Nurses Association's Center for Nursing History, which was renamed the "Bellevue Alumnae Center for Nursing History" in honor of their contributions.
