Woodward, Arthur, 1898-1986
Biographical note: Historical archaeologist and museum curator, Arthur Woodward worked at the Heye Foundation, then spent most of his career as curator of history and archaeology at the Los Angeles County Museum. After his retirement in 1953, he worked as a consultant with the National Parks Service. His specific areas of interest included trade goods dispersal patterns, California history, military history, gold rush emigrant experiences, and transportation routes.
