United States Comprehensive Test Ban Coalition
Began in March, 1988 as the U.S. Coalition of the International Comprehensive Test Ban Campaign; Carolyn Cottom was its first Chair; formed as a coalition of peace groups to raise public awareness of nuclear testing issues, and to call on governments to initiate testing moratoria and to undertake negotiations for a comprehensive test ban. Changed name in 1989 to United States Comprehensive Test Ban Coalition.
