Constantinides, Dinos
Dinos Constantinides was born in Ioannina, Greece on May 10, 1929. He studied musical theory and violin in Athens at the Greek Conservatory and violin at the Julliard School in New York City. Constantinides also received a Master's degree in music from Indiana University and a Ph.D. in Composition from Michigan State University. For ten years, he played in the violin section of the State Orchestra in Athens, Greece. Constantinides began teaching at Louisiana State University in 1967. In 1986, he was honored with the Boyd Professorship of Composition, the highest honor bestowed upon professors at LSU.
