University of Michigan. Center for Coördination of Ancient and Modern Studies
Established in 1969 to examine problems of interest to both classical and modern scholars, the center later expanded its work into a wider range of interdisciplinary studies. Gerald Else, professor of Greek and Latin, served as director, 1969-1976. Under the center's sponsorship, conferences were held each year and a newsletter was published and distributed to scholars in this country and abroad. The center closed in 1976.
