Hunt, Thomas B., 1839-1914.
Hunt was raised in Cowlesville, N.Y. and moved west in 1859. He first settled in Nevada City, Colorado during the gold rush, where he worked as a miner and in a mill. In 1864 he moved to Montana, where he worked as an engineer at lead and quartz mills in Unionville, Sheridan, and Summit (at Alder Gulch), while also maintaining a ranch at Willow Creek. In 1902 he sold his ranch and moved to Pony, Montana.
