Missionary; born Dorothy Jane Mainhood, 1931; converted, 1947; graduated from Hurley Hospital School of Medicine with a nursing degree, 1952, and from Wheaton College with a B.S., 1956; received an M.A. from Hartford Seminary Foundation in linguistics, 1968, and an M.A. from Wheaton College in Missions/Intercultural studies, 1988; greatly influenced by Wheaton College president V. Raymond Edman and missionary Ruby Lundgren; served with Overseas Missionary Fellowship as missionary nurse in Thailand, 1957-1966, and as language supervisor in Bangkok, 1968-1987.
