Yule, Paul, 1956-
Dr. Paul Yule received his B.A. from the University of Minnesota and an M.A. and PhD. from the Institute of Fine Arts in New York. From 1975 to 1979 he studied at the Universität Marburg, and was granted his habilitation from the Univesität Heidelberg in Near Eastern Archaeology in 1995. His dissertation was entitled Die Gräberfelder in Samad al Sh_n (Sultanat Oman): Materialien zu einer Kulturgeschichte. His archaeological work has centered on the Sultanate of Oman and other parts of the Near East and in South Asia. He has excavated at al Amqat, Samad al Shan, al Maysar (Amlah), al Shir (Oman), W_d_Jiz, al Amq_t (Bawshar), and in Iraq, Germany, and Pakistan. Over the course of his career, Yule has taught courses at New York University, College of Mount St. Vincent (Riverdale, NY), Universität Bonn, and the Universität Heidelberg, and has directed numerous excavations.
