Clarke, Otis M.
Consulting geologist Otis M. Clarke, Jr. performed geochemistry research work on copper at the Ray Mines in Arizona. He started working in Ray in 1943 as a junior mining engineer and was promoted to mine assayer. Later, he supervised exploration drilling when open pit mining was being considered. He was then assigned duties as pit engineer, planning stripping operations and mining copper ore encountered during stripping. He also worked for the Geological Survey of Alabama in bauxite prospecting.
