McGinnis, J. Michael
McGinnis was Deputy Asst. Secretary for Health, and Director of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. He began his PHS career in international health, primarily Eastern Europe, with smallpox eradication projects. He worked under four presidents during his PHS executive career, where his policy work contributed to evolution of health policy, specifically nutrition, health promotion, and disease prevention.
