New Mexico Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs

The New Mexico Federation of Business & Professional Women's Clubs was established in May 1923 when the Albuquerque Business and Professional Women's Club and the Business and Professional Women's Club of Sante Fe met together and drafted a constitution. The Adelante Club joined them one month later. The first convention was held in Albuquerque in May 1924, with 26 delegates from 6 clubs. From the beginning, the group was active in various aspects of civic life, including helping to establish the State Tuberculosis Institute. The Turquoise is their quarterly publication.
