Green, Timothy Ruggles.
Timothy Ruggles Green, from Massachusetts, became an attorney in New York City in the mid-1820s. He was a trustee of Brown University and active in religious organizations. He married Cornelia Elizabeth Arnold in the mid-1830s. He died on March 16, 1840 in South Carolina. John Wroughton Mitchell (1796-1878) was born in Charleston, South Carolina. He began practicing law there in 1817. He married Green's sister Caroline in 1825. Moving to New York City in 1835, he continued his law practice in partnership with his brother-in-law. Mitchell was active in the Protestant Episcopal Missionary Society.
