Davis, James Cushman
James C. Davis was in the navy and on board the USS Indianapolis, CA 35 when it was torpedoed and sunk by a Japanese submarine between Guam and Leyte. Of the 1,196 men on board only 316 survived. James C. Davis was on the ship when it was torpedoed. He was never found. On August 12, 1945 his parents received a telegram informing them that he went missing on 30 July 1945.
