Acadian Handicraft Project.
The goal of the Acadian Handicraft Project was to preserve the language, culture, and tradition of the French-speaking people of Louisiana. The project was launched in 1942 by the Louisiana State University General Extension Division. As a Division Field Representative, Louise ("Lou Lou") V. Olivier was instrumental in the revitalization of interest in French and Native American handicrafts and culture in Louisiana. The project was suspended ca. 1962.
