Reber, Miles J., 1902-1976
Miles J. Reber (b. March 27, 1902, Washington, D.C.-d. Nov. 24, 1976), U.S. Army officer, was commissioned in the Corps of Engineers from West Point in 1923. His early assignments included duty with the 3rd Engineers in Hawaii; White House aide; and instructor at West Point. He served as assistant chief of legislative division, War Department General Staff, during World War II. Following the War he became chief of the legislative division, War Department General Staff, and later, commanding general, Western Area Command, U.S. Army Europe, until his retirement in 1955.
