Svendsen, Mark, 1945-
Mark Svendsen was born in Yeppoon in Central Queensland. He attended Emu Park Primary, Yeppoon Secondary and the University of Queensland where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1983. He writes poetry for children and adults, young adult novels, novels for younger readers and picture books. He has also written libretti (for Elena Kats-Chernin's two Rockhampton Symphonies) and plays, Right Where I Belong, and an adult novel titled, Tears of Glass. He also writes reviews for the Courier Mail newspaper and teaches creative writing to children around Australia.
