Country School Legacy (Project)

The project surveyed education in one-room school houses in the eight states comprising the Association. It collected oral history interviews, photographs of teachers, students and one-room school houses, textbooks, curricula, and a variety of miscellaneous school records. A repository archive was designated in each state to house each state's documentary materials. The University of North Dakota was selected to be the repository for North Dakota materials. The project also produced a traveling community program which included an exhibit, booklet and 25-minute color film shown at public seminars throughout the eight states.
