Longstreet, Helen Dortch, -1962

Helen Dortch Longstreet, journalist, activist and public speaker, was the widow of General James Longstreet. A native of Georgia, she resided there most of her life, holding positions as newspaper editor, state librarian, and postmaster of Gainesville. She dedicated her later life to raising funds for the Longstreet Memorial Association.
