United States Presidents

The President of the United States is both the head of state and the head of government of the U.S.

The president also heads the executive branch of the federal government as well as serving as commander-in-chief of the armed forces. The president's powers come from Article II of the U.S. Constitution, though the powers of the president have grown substantially over time. The citizens of the United States indirectly elect the president for a four-year term through the Electoral College.
