Nagata, Setsuko, 1916-
Kanehara was born in 1916 in Oakland, CA; she was sent to Japan and graduated from a girls' middle school in Miyazaki Prefecture; she returned to the US in 1936; a poet and author, she used Setsuko Nagata as her pen name.
