Abraham - Hans Israel - b 1916
Hans Israel Abraham was born in Bad Pyrmont, Lower Saxony, in 1916 where he lived and worked as a merchant. He was arrested during the November pogroms in 1938 and sent to Buchenwald concentration camp. After his release in December 1938 he emigrated as a refugee to England in 1939. He changed his name to Harry Edward Anderson. He served in the army in France from 1940 to 1944 but was discharged early from his duties due to health issues. He was naturalised in 1946.
