Smith, on voyage 1 Dec. 1898-16 Nov. 1899, to On the Line, Coast of Japan, Okhotsk Sea, and coast of Kamchatka whaling grounds; owner-agent: William Lewis; built at New Bedford, Mass., 1842; originally rigged as a ship; rerigged to bark ca. 1892.
