Australian Institute of Urban Studies
The AIUS was established in 1967 with divisions in each state and territory. The function of the AIUS was to promote research and study into urban and regional development and to act as a lobby group. Concerns included housing, transport, energy conservation, social welfare and resource development. The national body was disbanded after 1988, although the State and Territory divisions continue to exist.
