Aliki.

Aliki Liacouras was born on September 3, 1929 in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey to Greek immigrant parents. Aliki graduated from the Philadelphia Museum School of Art in 1951. She then worked as a freelance advertising and display artist. She also taught classes in art and ceramics, worked as a muralist, and started a greeting card company. She married children's author Franz Brandenberg in 1957. Her first book, The Story of William Tell, was published in 1960. She has written and illustrated many books herself and illustrated the books of other authors, including her husband. She is known for her nonfiction work including biographies, history, and science. In 1977, she moved to England with her family.
