Vollrath, Edward, 1858-1931

Edward Vollrath (b. June 28, 1858, Bucyrus, Ohio-d. Jan. 21, 1931), Brigadier General in the U.S. Army, graduated from university and was then admitted to the Ohio bar in 1885. He enlisted as a private in the 8th Ohio Infantry and later served in Cuba during the Spanish-American War and at the Mexican border. During the World War I, he was commander of the 66th Depot Brigade; the 66th Artillery Brigade, 41st Division; and the 82nd Infantry Brigade and 41st Division, American Expeditionary Force in France from 1917 to 1919. He was honorably discharged and resumed his law practice in March 1919.
