Missionary and magician; born 1914; received BA (1942) and MA (1944) from Wheaton College, BD (1946) from Northern Baptist Seminary, and a TSM (1947) from Faith Theological Seminary; worked as a professional magician; missionary seminary teacher; founder of Tokyo Christian Theological Seminary (Japan Christian Theological Seminary); oversaw merger between Tokyo Christian College and Kyoritsu Women's Bible School; president of Japan Bible Council.
