Carbondale, Illinois Preservation Commission.
The Carbondale Preservation Commission was created in 1989 by former mayor Neil Dillard. The purpose and goal of the commission is to retrieve oral histories from people who have lived in the city for the majority of their lives and promote the identificiation and preservation of historic bulidings. As of 2006 there were nine members on the Commission.
