True name: Vladimir Malacki; born in Warsaw 1908, died in Geneva, Switzerland 1998; author and political activist; moved to France in 1926; in close contact with revolutionary groups of the extreme left; enrolled in the French army in 1939; prisoner of war in 1940 he managed to escape; left France for Venezuela in 1942; moved to Mexico in 1943; after his conflict with Victor Serge in 1944 he went to the USA, where he lectured on European literature up to 1968; became friends with Norman Mailer, Paul Mattick, Raja Dunaevskaja, Herbert Marcuse and others; author of L̀es Javanais',J̀ournal de Guerre', J̀ournal du mťq̈ue' and P̀lanẗe sans visa'.
