Judge, historian, educator, and author; principal at the General Sumter Memorial Academy in Stateburg (Sumter County, S.C.); active in S.C. Teachers' Association, S.C. Free Trade Assocciation, and other organizations, including international groups advocating pacifism and the peace movement during the early years of the 20th century.
