Brown, Charles R. (Charles Randall), 1899-1983

Charles Randall Brown (1899-1983) was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1921 and was commissioned ensign the same year. He advanced through grades to rear admiral in August 1944, and served as Commander In chief of Allied Forces, Southern Europe, from 1959 to 1962. He retired in January 1962.
