Cummins, George W. (George Wyckoff), 1865-
Dr. George Wyckoff Cummins (1865-1942) of Belvidere, N.J. (Warren County), graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons (N.Y.), and was granted a Ph. D. in Philosophy from Yale (1887). He practiced medicine in Belvidere for nearly fifty years and played an active role in the Warren County Medical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He was also known for inventing improved methods of annealing copper, iron, and copper wire, and was the author of The Annealing of Copper, as well as The History of Warren County and Indian Relics around Belvidere.
