University of Connecticut. Undergraduate Student Government.

An undergraduate student government has existed at University of Connecticut since 1894. Originally composed of nine elected students who worked with the faculty on "matters of government of the college," the body was reorganized in 1921 as the Student Senate. In 1933, the Student Senate became the Associated Student Government (ASG) which was dissolved in 1973 and replaced with the Federation of Students and Service Organizations (FSSO). In 1980, the FSSO was replaced by the Undergraduate Student Government (USG).
