Collins, Donnie K., 1938-
Mrs. Collins was raised in Utica, Mississippi. After graduating from high school, she moved to Jackson before becaming a stewardess with Southern Airways in Atlanta. In 1959, she married her childhood sweetheart and moved to San Antonio, where he began flight school. During the Vietnam War, her husband was captured and spent seven and a half years as a prisoner of war. Mrs. Collins was active during that time to gather both information about and to secure the release of American soldiers listed as POWs and MIAs.
