Oregon Electric Railway Company.
The company was incorporated in 1906 and constructed lines linking Portland and Salem with other cities in northwestern Oregon. These properties were acquired in 1910 by GN interests, which subsequently offered a half interest to the Northern Pacific. The rail line, which measured 205 miles in 1953, was managed by the Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway, a joint subsidiary of GN and NP.
