Stewart, M. B. (Merch Bradt)

Merch Bradt Stewart (b. June 24, 1875, Mitchell Station, Va.-d. July 3, 1934), Major General in the U.S. Army, graduated from West Point in 1896 and saw active service in the Spanish-American War, the Philippine Insurrection, and World War I. He also served on the Land Defense Board, Panama Canal, and as commandant of cadets and superintendent, U.S. Military Academy. General Stewart retired in October 1927.
