Benton, Nelson
Nelson Benton, native of Danville, Va., and 1949 graduate of the University of North Carolina. Benton was a television and radio news correspondent, who spent most of his career working for various divisions within CBS News, which he joined in 1960. Prior to that, he had worked for WBTV, the CBS television affiliate in Charlotte, N.C.
