Stohl, Hank, 1927-2008.
Hank Stohl was a puppeteer, actor and writer who became famous in Pittsburgh for his puppets, Knish, Rodney Hackenflash and Connie the Dog. Stohl created Knish in 1952 for an audition for Mitzis Kiddie Kastle on WDTV, the predecessorof KDKA. He later created the puppets, Rodney and Connie who appeared with Knish on KDKA Kay Dee Kartoon and Big Adventure and on WTAE Popeye n Knish. After retiring his puppets in 1968, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Stohl died on December 15 2008 in Whitehall Pa.
