Hugh H. Walker

Hugh H. Walker joined the 391st Bombardment Group of the United States Army Air Force in April 1944 at Matching Green, Essex, England. He was assigned to the 572nd Bombardment Squadron as a pilot and flew 54 missions until injured in August 1944 during an aircraft accident. In October, 1944, he returned stateside to become a B-26 Marauder instructor in Las Vegas, Nevada and then an A-26 instructor at Lake Charles, Louisiana. He retired from the United States Air Force in 1975 after a thirty-three year career. In 1974, Hugh Walker helped establish the 391st Bomb Group Association, participating in the group until his death in 2008.
